The Professional Pool and Spa Operator (PPSO) certification course from PHTA (formerly APSP) is the industry’s new premier program for commercial swimming pool operators, managers, engineers, service company professionals, health officials and facility owners.

The PPSO program is the newest program available for pool operators. This program focuses on the water chemistry/balance, circulation and filtration.

This 2 day program will result in a 5 year certification when the attendee passes the exam.
The exam is an openbook exam. A picture ID must be presented when taking the exam.
PPSO is a commercial aquatics program produced by an industry organization recognized by the American National Standards Institute to develop and promote national standards for pools, hot tubs and spas.
One of the differences with the PPSO program is how the pool chemical dosages are calculated. For the PPSO certified person, the calculations are primarily based on taking a suitable dosage from a chart for each specific chemical. These calculations depend mostly on simple addition.
